In addition to their vocational and technical skills training, TESDA is now offering foreign language and culture courses for interested students through their Language Skills Institute (LSI).
Of course, being able to speak foreign languages can be an advantage for individuals hoping to seek overseas employment opportunities. This can be a big plus factor for you since potential employers will consider it a positive point, regardless of what job you are applying for.
So if you are interested in learning foreign languages such as Nihonggo, Spanish, Mandarin (Chinese), Arabic, and English, your best bet is to sign up for a free TESDA course. Yes, the training is free so you wouldn’t even have to worry about paying any tuition fees!

TESDA Language Courses Qualifications and Requirements
As for the qualifications and requirements, individuals must be:
- A Filipino citizen
- 18 years old and above
- At least high school graduate
Those who have been pre-qualified to work locally and abroad will be given priority although others who are also interested in learning are welcome to sign up.
Also, prepare to submit any of the required documents such as TOR, college or high school diploma, training or competency certificates issued by Tesda. Bring an original copy of your NSO birth certificate, 1×1 (3pcs) and 2 x 2 photo (1pc) with white background and 1 long brown envelope.
Duration of TESDA Foreign Language Courses
- Basic Tesda Japanese Language (Nihongo) and Culture – 150 hours
- Basic Chinese Language (Mandarin) and Culture – 100 hours
- Basic Spanish Language – 100 hours
- Basic Arabic Language and Saudi / Gulf Culture – 100 hours
- English Proficiency for Customer Service Workers – 100 hours
